In the EAUC-Scotland’s July bulletin we called on the HE/FE community to 'Tell us your Triumphs!' and to get in touch with great projects and amazing work that was going on.
University of the West of Scotland (UWS) were quick to respond with the exciting news that they have recently won two awards through the National Union of Students (NUS).
Firstly their Student Association (SAUWS) worked incredibly hard to gain the NUS Green Impact Gold Award. Projects such as their community garden, free shop and waste awareness campaign meant that the team jumped from their 2014 Bronze Award to Gold Award so quickly!
Their second award was with the NUS Snap It Off campaign, which earned them first prize and £500 by having students take pictures around campus where energy could be saved.
The press releases from UWS for both these awards can be read below.
Well done to UWS Students Association and Sustainability Team on all their successes!
If you would like to have your triumphs publicised through the EAUC then please email [email protected] with more details of what you are doing!
