Guidance for Scottish colleges and universities: Public Bodies Climate Change Duties Reporting

EAUC Scotland has published a new resource for 2024/25: Guidance for Scottish colleges and universities - Public Bodies Climate Change Duties (PBCCD) Reporting.

Developed for the Scottish college and university sector, the resource sits alongside the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) PBCCD reporting guidance to help draw out what the PBCCD reporting questions mean/could mean for a college or university context.

Please note that reporting leads should make sure they read through the SSN guidance to note any changes in the reporting template, including methodology changes.

EAUC Scotland has produced this resource in two formats:

  1. a PDF version
  2. an excel version with guidance embedded alongside the relevant questions.

The guidance held in each version is the same and they can both be accessed below.

There are 4 headings used in the resource which are in bold throughout:

  • Context: provides additional information on a reporting theme e.g. adaptation
  • Guidance: interprets the SSN guidance for a college or university context
  • Tips / Tackling common errors: provide ideas for data collection and areas institutions can make quick reporting improvements
  • Examples: includes effective reporting practices from last years’ PBCCD reports from the sector and wider public bodies.

Scottish colleges and universities must submit reports via ccreporting@ed.ac.uk no later than 30th November to be deemed compliant. Please contact ccreporting@ed.ac.uk for all reporting queries.
