Our 2014 venue - Nottingham Trent University (NTU)
"We are delighted to host EAUC’s Conference 2014. Sustainability has been a vital part of our make up since we hosted the inaugural EAUC Conference in 1996!"
Professor Neil T Gorman DL, Vice-Chancellor, Nottingham Trent University
Situated in the city centre of Nottingham, the Newton Building (which will host the Conference) has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment which has delivered large improvements in sustainability. The Grade 2* listed building now hosts one of the largest green roofs in the UK and benefits from triple glazing in combination with the original 1950s façade. Other features include ISO14001 compliance and providing a home to the busiest NTU café, selling thousands of Silver accredited Food for Life meals to students each term. Despite being in the city centre it is also home to a colony of honey bees and a returning pair of peregrine falcons too!
The Newton Building offers a fantastic venue for delegates and exhibitors alike. With excellent links to the public transport system, delegates can arrive into Nottingham train station, hop on to the tram and within minutes alight a short walk away from the Conference venue.
Nottingham Conference Centre has recently received the Accredited in Meetings (AIM) Gold standard award. AIM is the nationwide Kitemark for venues and service providers in the meetings, conference and events industry. Administered by the meetings industry association (mia) and endorsed by Visit Britain, Visit England and the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers, AIM is awarded to venues that have met or exceeded 50 criteria including customer service, quality of facilities, compliance with codes of conduct and corporate social responsibility.
