Solar Independence Day annual celebrations will be held on Friday 3rd -Saturday 4th July this year. The Solar Trade Association events have been organised for all round the UK to celebrate and show case the innovative and growing sector. The annual event is a chance for communities, school, farms and HE/FE institutions to open their doors and welcome people in to visit their solar installation and learn more from the companies that have supported them.
Edinburgh College’s Granton campus will be hosting an event on Friday 3rd July, organised by iPower Energy. Tours to the college rooftop to view the 50kw solar PV system will allow visitors to see commercial solar installation up close and talk to the iPower representatives who implemented the project. During the day there is also an opportunity to hear more about the college's successful electric vehicle scheme and a chance to visit their renewable energy training centre.
