In 2009/10 Energy Saving Trust contacted all Scottish institutions to collect data about fleet vehicles. This information was used to inform Transport Scotland about vehicles in the public sector.
Transport Scotland has since asked the Energy Saving Trust to continue working with two of the sectors that provided returns with the aim of helping them reduce emissions, save money and help the environment. As Universities and Colleges showed an interest in the initial work and were one of the first sectors to provide complete data sets, Transport Scotland felt it would be pertinent to provide this service to your sector.
Now the EAUC and EST are working together to deliver a service which will directly support your institution in one of the key areas of the Universities and Colleges Climate Commitment for Scotland.

In November this year all Scottish institutions were contacted and invited to take part in this project. If you were not contacted directly and would like to find out more about the project please contact Alex Henderson, Scotland Project Officer, ahenderson@eauc.org.uk.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can improve your fleet and benefit from cost and carbon savings we will be holding a workshop dedicated to Universities and Colleges to provide specialised advice and guidance. This will be an opportunity to learn about what tools and resources are available to you, share best practice, highlight case studies where measures have worked well and how barriers have been overcome. The aim is for this support to be interactive and tailored to your needs so we would welcome any suggestions on topics or issues you would like covered.
