Queen's University Belfast became the first employer in the UK to achieve the Cycle Friendly Employer Accreditation and the first to achieve Gold Standard.
To gain this accreditation, the University had to demonstrate what measures are in place to show long-term commitment, support and leadership in helping staff to cycle to work regularly. This was evidenced during a recent audit, which formed part of the accreditation process, undertaken by both Cycling UK and Sustrans.
In gaining this accreditation, the University is measuring itself against the only international benchmark for workplace cycling and demonstrating that it is an innovative, cycle-friendly organisation.
