The judging of each application will be based on the following criteria:

Judges are expert representatives from a selection of organisations relevant to further and higher education:
The Awards are run in collaboration and governed by a cross agency steering group with key sector bodies:
- The nature and size of both environmental and non-environmental benefits
- The relationship between benefits and costs
- Broader significance to the sector
- The quality and reliability of evidence supporting the claims being made
- Unusual features which make the application ‘stand out from the crowd’
