Thanks to a partnership with the University of Gloucestershire, the goal of having an EAUC National Office has become reality only 6 months after the Members approved of our ambitions business plan. Recently the University became the first to achieve university wide ISO14001 status and set a course to lead a more sustainable sector. May I take this opportunity to formally thank the University of Gloucestershire.
Based at the Park Campus in Cheltenham, the office will provide new levels of support and coordination to members as outlined in the Business Plan. Three posts have been developed: Executive Director, Administration Officer and an Events and Communications Officer, the latter is part funded in a two year partnership with the HEEPI project.
Introducing the staff
Iain Patton, EAUC Executive Director:
As the EAUC Executive Director, it is a dream come true to see the EAUC develop like this. It is a credit to the work and dynamism of members and particularly the current and previous Executive Committee that we are now a credible charitable company with a permanent office and staff the envy of many other association in the sector. As a member owned and led organisation I look forward to working with you to further develop our products and services.
Prior to this role I have been fulfilling a part time EAUC Admin role while supporting the writing and realisation of the business plan. For 10 years I worked as the Sustainable development Officer at a Midlands College and also run a small organic farm and food processing business.
