Higher Education Institutions are invited to apply to the latest Revolving Green Fund (RGF). The fourth round of the HEFCE and Salix Funding partnership RGF4 was announced on 19th June, with £34 million available from April 2015.
The RGF helps universities and colleges to reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions. RGF 4 is very similar to RGF3 and for the first time institutions can seek funding for water saving projects. The fund will provide both recoverable and recyclable grants and increased funding for projects and programmes starting after 1 January 2015.
Applications of between £50,000 and £750,000 are invited for small scale energy efficiency projects. RGF 3 provides more flexibility about the type of projects that can be undertaken and the new 24 month completion period will allow institutions to undertake work in summer 2017.
Exemplary retrofit projects can be for whole buildings or for campus-wide initiatives and sums of a minimum of £750,000 to a maximum of £2 million are available.
Application forms and information on how to apply can be found on the Salix website https://salixfinance.co.uk/loans/RGF4
The deadline for applications is 15 October 2014.
The EAUC is delighted to announce that Andy Nolan, Director of Sustainability at Nottingham University will represent EAUC Members on the RGS Advisory Group.
