Better World Books is a for-profit socially minded business that collects and sells books online with each sale generating funds for literacy initiatives around the world. It is a free service: Better World Books provides shipping boxes and arranges to collect the boxes of books which are then processed at the company’s distribution centre in Dunfermline, Scotland. Each book is manually scanned with accepted books placed online to be sold across multiple marketplaces.  Any books that cannot be sold are donated or recycled - no books ever go to landfill.
