The winners for the 2010 Green Gown Awards will be annouced at a fabulous Gala Banquet at The Swan at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London on Wednesday 16th June 2010.The evening will commence at 6.30pm with a drinks reception then guests will enjoy Mark Sargeant's renowned and sumptuous 14 dish 'Feast' including drinks, followed by the highly anticipated Awards Ceremony.
Comedian and Amateur Environmental Crusader, Mark Watson, has now been confirmed as the compere for the evening.
Mark Watson was nominated for a Perrier as a member of Cambridge Footlights. Within a year he won the Telegraph’s Open Mic competition and reached the finals of Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny? He went on to scoop the inaugural if.comedy award.
Mark has appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week and Armando Iannucci’s Time Trumpet. He is also a regular voice on Radio 4 with Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better; through his eyes things really can be improved remarkably easily.
For his book 'Crap at the Environment' Mark made an honest appraisal of his relationship with Green issues, his feelings about environmental groups and what he did (or more often didn't) for the planet. Mark's advice to environmentalists is that they should avoid being holier than thou; to other comedians that they should use their position to make a difference; and to football fans that yes, the environment really is as important as the FA cup.
Prior to the Awards there will be a 'best of 2009 Masterclass' with previous winners who will share their journey and experience of Green Gown success! Click here to book your place on this excellent networking event.
