In this presentation Dr Philip Pothen (University of Kent) and Tilda Ferree (The Food Foundation) will explore the idea of the Right to Food – what it is, where it comes from, and how it could help in our understanding of food and its place in our lives and society. We will discuss what universities can bring to this idea and what this means for the University of Kent in particular.
We will share the Right to Food project’s four missions, which look to bring research and innovation, teaching and the curriculum, volunteering, catering, and our relationship with our region to bear on helping to develop a food system that is fairer, more affordable and sustainable for all. We will explore what this means, what the challenges and opportunities might be and how other universities can become involved through a Q&A session and wider discussion.
