Session 1: 10th May - 09.30 - 13.00
Session 2: 12th May - 09.30 - 13.00
EAUC are pleased to be working in partnership to promote Carbon Literacy training to deliver bespoke training to the University of Central Lancashire.
Reducing emissions relies on every single person in an organisation being aware of the carbon impacts of their choices, and feeling motivated and supported to take action.
Our online Carbon Literacy course is a blended learning experience, with self-study elements alongside 2 half days virtual training, and is relevant climate change learning for everyone. It is a great way to gain a solid awareness of climate change, and the climate impacts of our everyday actions. The engaging and interactive training allows delegates to map their own carbon footprint, and gain an understanding and motivation to reduce personal and work-place emissions.
The course ensures an understanding of how climate change is affecting us now and into the future, opportunities to better communicate climate issues at work and at home and introduces social aspects such as climate justice.
This course is tailored to the university and college sector, and to support learners to identify practical steps they can take, to get involved in your organisation's low carbon journey.
By the end of the course you will:
Understand the basics of climate change science and how we know it’s a problem
Have explored how climate change is impacting us all now and how it will in the future
Be able to identify ways that you and your organisation can take action to reduce emissions, benefiting from this in the process
Who Should attend:
Sustainability Teams
Staff and Student Sustainability/ Green Committees and Champions
Procurement Teams and others from professional services
Supervisors, Team Leaders and Managers
HR Teams
Support Staff
At the end of the course delegates will be asked to submit evidence of learning and actions from the course by and setting out an action plan to reduce their own emissions and influence others to take action. This will be submitted to the Carbon Literacy Project for evaluation, for a Carbon Literacy certificate to be issued.
The training was developed by Manchester Metropolitan University, in collaboration with the Carbon Literacy Project and is certified by the Carbon Literacy Project.
