This workshop looked to discuss how teaching staff can work toward the 'ideal' curriculum for sustainable development.

In this session we heard from Alex Meredith, a psychology and sustainability professor at Nottingham Trent University, who has created a toolkit for ESD. This toolkit contains scaffolded, adaptable activities you can use in your own teaching as well as key pedagogical elements to consider when embedding ESD in your curricula.

The main aim of the session was to workshop in academic faculty breakout rooms. In each group attendees heard about examples of activities that have been successful and that link to the SDG’s and to use Alex's toolkit to develop these further.

Once back in the main group we had an opportunity to encourage inter-disciplinary ESD by sharing ideas between groups and seeing where there is potential to work together.

This was a great opportunity for academics to get some immediately implementable actions to improve ESD in their subject.

Alex was joined by the following speakers in the breakout sessions which have been split into 4 general categories, each speaker talking about how they have embedded ESD into their subject field:

Arts Breakout:
Alice Stevens, Arts University Bournemouth
Steve Haden, Dundee and Angus College

Business Breakout:
Richard Howarth, Nottingham Trent University
Chris Moon, Middlesex University

Sciences Breakout:
