EAUC is collaborating with HEEPI’s SusteIT project on this free event which will launch SusteIT’s new ICT footprinting tool, which is based on a detailed analysis of communication, computing, and digital printing at the University of Sheffield. This shows that ICT is now responsible for 18% of the University’s total electricity consumption - and a bill of over £1 million next year - with desktop computing accounting for half of this. It is therefore vital that the sector does more to respond to the environmental and financial burden that ICT use creates. Fortunately, there are many good examples of good practice which will be highlighted in this workshop, including:

There is no charge for the event. Knowledgeable vendors who can contribute their experience to the discussions are welcome. As we expect the event to be very popular, cancellations after August 28th, and no shows that are not due to illness, will be charged at £100.
