This event is part of a series of virtual events by the UK Climate Commission for University and College Students and Leaders. It will be hosted by EAUC - the Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education and the Association of Colleges (AoC).
We invite members of the Further Education Climate Commission Council, Expert Witnesses and Observers to attend this meeting. Other interested parties are also welcome to attend.
The purpose of the event is to discuss with the FE sector on the Climate Commission's insights thus far, including the recently launched Climate Action Roadmap for FE colleges, to ensure the needs of the sector are being met in the Commission's work.
Access the Roadmap here.
We are delighted to announce that discussions during this event will be student-led. Student Commissioners will be facilitating discussions and we welcome other students to attend and share their invaluable insights.
Access the briefing paper for the event here.
The Climate Commission has identified 5 priority areas on which the sector must focus to ensure there are clear and feasible pathways to achieving greenhouse gas emissions targets to tackle the climate crisis. We are hosting Evidence Gathering Events to seek expert advice on these topics to inform our outputs and action plan. Priority areas include:
- Mobilising the Further and Higher education voice for impact and influence
- Research and Innovation
- Measuring and Reporting Scope 1, 2 and 3 Emissions
- Deep Adaptation
- Education and the Student Experience
This event will be hosted after all Evidence Gathering Events to discuss the Climate Commission's progress with the further education sector.
