This TSN will link current research projects at Heriot-Watt University to best practice building construction and management in the Further and Higher Education Sector, and include information on the ongoing Low Carbon Demonstrator Project Mapping. It will be helpful to anyone working on options for developing or refurbishing low carbon Estates to assist in delivery of your institution's Carbon Management Plan or Climate Change Action Plan.
The event is being hosted by Professor Phil Banfill from the Centre for Excellence for Sustainable Building Design at Heriot-Watt University, and will feature presentations from the Urban Energy Research Group on their current research areas, including low-carbon refurbishment and new-builds for future climates, and consideration of electrical consumption in an academic building. The event will end with an optional tour of the University’s Postgraduate Centre – the subject of the latter talk.
John Easton will also share information on the new database of low carbon demonstrator projects in Scotland being compiled by Construction Scotland.
The full Agenda and details on the speakers can be found on our Sustainable Construction TSN webpage.
In addition, there will be time to discuss current issues, events and developments in the sector. If you would like to suggest an item for the Agenda please email rpetford@eauc.org.uk.
