LiFE Framework: Resource Efficiency and Waste
EAUC Competency Level: On the Road / More Advanced (what does this mean?)
Why me?
This course is designed for any professional dealing with the management of waste, either at department / school / service or at institutional level. It is of particular relevance to those who have the ability to influence the management of waste at these levels and this may include managers of laboratories, cleaning and other facilities services, catering and hospitality. This course will also be delivered with a focus on Scottish waste regulations and legislation.
It is also is suitable for those who do not deal directly with waste such as those:
- who champion sustainability and green issues within an institution
- are interested in stimulating behaviour change in this area
- involved in student unions.
What will I get from this course?
Waste Smart is a CIWM industry standard training course designed to offer accessible, practical and sustainable waste and resource management skills. It is designed to help organisations cut their waste costs, comply with all necessary legislation and become more resource efficient.
The course aims to give delegates
- the knowledge to help them identify improvements in resource and waste management
- the understanding of where and how to make those improvements
- the skills to implement those improvements and demonstrate their impact to others
See attached 'Waste Smart Training Course Information' for more details on course content.
The course will start promptly at 9am, with registration from 8.45am.
The course concludes with a short formal written assessment and successful delegates receive a CIWM certificate.
