This is the last face-to-face event in the series delivered by Jimmy Brannigan, Director of ESD Consulting Ltd. A comprehensive half-day event focusing on engaging with students in the FHE sector. If you have yet to attend part of this training series it is highly recommended.

SUMMARY
Engaging with students is often seen as challenging and difficult. This workshop will explore innovative techniques to engaging with students on Sustainable Development drawing on a range of approaches which have been successful in universities and colleges.

Students can be key advocates for sustainability across the campus and within the local community and the workshop will explore how the institution can build this relationship with the students and create sustainability champions. At the end of the workshop, participants will have developed an action plan for student engagement to enhance their current activity.

This training is being run in partnership with CHANGEAGENTS UK, an environmental education charity that drives projects with young people, students and graduates since 1996.

OBJECTIVES

  • Develop a shared understanding of how sustainability and sustainable development can be integrated into student engagement processes;
  • Share ideas with colleagues and learn from others;
  • Be introduced to tools and approaches to engage students on sustainability; and
  • Explore the links between student engagement, the curriculum and the community.
