EAUC’s response to the General Teaching Council for Scotland consultation welcomes a more streamlined, risk-based approach and clearer, consolidated accreditation framework focused on outcomes and professional standards.

It highlights the key role of universities and colleges in delivering ITE and TQFE, supporting clearer expectations and alignment with existing quality assurance, while stressing the need to retain professional dialogue.

Based on a response from Learning for Sustainability Scotland, the document supports the direction of reform but calls for clarity, proportionality and appropriate support, particularly as accreditation extends to TQFE and evolves in practice.
