EAUC is pleased to be working in partnership with the Carbon Literacy Project to deliver Carbon Literacy Training for the post-16 education sector.
Reducing emissions relies on every individual understanding the carbon impacts of their choices and feeling confident, motivated and supported to take action. Whether in our workplaces, communities or everyday lives, we all have a role to play in creating a more sustainable future.
Designed specifically for the post-16 education sector, this certified Carbon Literacy Training provides the knowledge, confidence and practical tools needed to understand climate change and take meaningful action. Combining flexible self-study learning with two half-day virtual workshops, the programme offers an engaging and accessible learning experience that fits around busy schedules.
Through interactive discussions and practical activities, delegates will explore the causes and impacts of climate change, calculate their own carbon footprint and identify realistic opportunities to reduce emissions both personally and professionally. The course also develops confidence in communicating climate issues with colleagues, learners and wider stakeholders, helping to embed sustainability across an organisation.
Carbon Literacy is a recognised certification that supports individuals to contribute more effectively to organisational sustainability goals. Whether you are new to sustainability or looking to strengthen your existing knowledge, this course provides practical insights and actions that can make a measurable difference.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anyone looking to build their understanding of climate change and contribute to sustainability within their organisation, including:
To achieve Carbon Literacy certification, delegates will complete a short evidence submission demonstrating their learning and commitment to taking action. This includes creating a personal action plan to reduce emissions and influence others to do the same. Submissions are assessed by the Carbon Literacy Project, and successful delegates will receive an official Carbon Literacy certificate.
The training was developed by Manchester Metropolitan University in collaboration with the Carbon Literacy Project and is certified by the Carbon Literacy Project.
